Well mister mister wants to keep us on our toes apparently. His raspiness and secretions issues have seemed to get worse. He sounds like he has tons of junk at the back of his throat, but he just won't, or can't, cough to clear it out. We do not have a suction machine, but have been using the bulb suction, without much luck. The good news is it doesn't seem to bother him at all, but it makes me a nervous wreck.
We had Carousel come check on him because we were getting to that uncomfortable place where we just didn't know what else to do. She got there and wasn't very comfortable with his breathing and thought she noticed some retractions during his breathing. To be on the safe side we came in to urgent care to have a chest xray done, get everything suctioned out, and to check his labs again since he's still not eating great.
I am so happy to say for the first time ever, Zack gets to go home without being admitted!! His xray was clear and his labs were better than last time, so we are heading home with orders to follow up with neuro about the medicine in the morning.
Hopefully we have an uneventful night and can get this all figured out soon!
